Rose Ziaei, Program Officer

Rose Ziaei has over 13 years of experience as a participatory practitioner and strategist working on the intersections of social and climate justice, anti-oppressive practice, youth and community work, creativity, and healing justice in philanthropy, non-profit, and activist movement spaces at the global / national / local levels.

Prior to joining CJRF, Rose worked as a Programme Manager at the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust where she was responsible for a £10m grant-making portfolio resourcing racial and migrant justice in the UK and Europe. Under her leadership, the programme shifted away from extractive and traditional funding models towards reparative, healing-centred, and equitable praxis of wealth redistribution. Other professional experiences include: managing a publication series reflecting and documenting a decade of creative movement building and grassroots youth work at Voices that Shake!, leading a programme aimed at addressing health inequities and reimagining care at Healing Justice London, coordinating a network working on food sovereignty at Community Food Growers Network, managing youth centres and educational programmes, working as a participatory methods researcher and advisor, and facilitating reflective learning and action spaces for various initiatives.

Rose has a Master's degree in Development Planning and Administration from the Bartlett at University College London, where she specialised in participatory and sustainable approaches to transformative social change. She also has a BA in Philosophy from University of the West of England, and trained as a MindBody Therapy Practitioner at Embodied Philosophy alongside a year-long training in Process-work at Processwork Institute. Rose is currently based in London, UK.
