Advancing Climate Justice at COP26

For two weeks in November, Glasgow, Scotland hosted the largest and most important United Nations climate negotiations session since the Paris Agreement in 2015. Called COP26, the conference brought together official representatives of nearly 200 countries, plus thousands of participants from business, academia, and civil society.

Over the next few months, we will be posting excerpts from “Existing Within and Between: A Script on Climate Action & Intersectionality.” This script uses a play format to creatively explore the state of the intersectionality conversation in the climate justice community of practice.

Resilience in the Face of Life’s Storms

DRCSC works with the rural poor in the Sundarbans. For nearly 30 years, the organization has used scientific management of natural resources and community-based initiatives to improve the food and livelihood security of those living there. This includes teaching adaptable farming techniques, like developing a raised bed system that allows excess water to drain or growing crops in bags, a term known as sack cultivation.
