We are at an exciting point in our development where our partners are generating significant results. Now, we’re exploring lessons from their progress and how we can best share these lessons with the broader climate action community.

At a CJRF-hosted side event of the 14th International Conference on Community-Based Adaptation to Climate Change (#CBA14), our partner organizations gathered virtually to discuss climate justice approaches to adaptation and identify lessons drawn from their work and experience to-date.

Leaders from the human rights and climate change communities are joining forces to support communities on the front lines of climate change. Six organizations, including CJRF, have pooled their knowledge resources and funds to provides grants to organizations aiding communities.

A community hub for East African women to lead on solutions which address climate has laid its foundation in the Ugandan town of Tororo. This hub will provide an inclusive space for women to build resilience to the impacts of climate change in their region and around the world.

A network of over 2000 justice defending organizations has come together to share ideas in how to the global health crisis. This group, The Legal Empowerment Network, is training “barefoot lawyers” to stand up for human rights amid the coronavirus pandemic and climate crisis.

The community-based adaptation (CBA) conference series has established itself as the leading global, practitioner-focused climate adaptation conference. This year’s CBA will be digital – but it will still have community at the center.
