A Podcast Gives Voice to Inventive Activists
Through humor and perception, the transformative podcast Mothers of Invention features women around the world as they solve climate change problems. Former President of Ireland Mary Robinson and Irish comedian Maeve Higgins lead the effort, joining forces to share stories of climate justice and activism. Our $100,000 grant to the producers, Doc Society, helps the podcast highlight even more women (and a few men) in season 2.

Why Mothers of Invention?
With warm-hearted jokes and solution-oriented stories, the Mothers of Invention team argues that climate change is “a man-made problem with a wonderfully feminist solution!” The podcast gives a voice to “unsung heroes” of climate action around the world. Whether bringing indigenous wisdom into global policy, linking human rights with science and faith, or fighting carbon pollution with a new technology, the “mothers” show us what’s possible and inspire us all to take our own actions.
