Building a Global Network of Woman Climate Leaders
Networking and the exchange of knowledge makes any movement stronger. CJRF provided four grants totaling more than $1.2M USD to the Huairou Commission between 2018 and 2022. These grants enabled information sharing between women in Kenya and India who work at the forefront of climate resilience. As a global network of women’s organizations, the Huairou Commission builds leadership skills, fosters inclusion in climate change planning, and helps women secure funding for grassroots initiatives through a unique community-driven climate finance model known as the Community Resilience Fund.
CJRF’s two-and-a-half-year renewal grant of $200,000 USD will continue to support Huairou’s movement-building activities, and it will further consolidate their bottom-up learning and planning processes by:
Deepening their support for member organizations on financial and other systems strengthening
Developing new communities of practice and advocacy campaigns
Building and sustaining strategic global partnerships and alliances
