Partnering with Pastoralists for Policy Change
With rainfall becoming more erratic, climate change can wreak havoc on communities centered around livestock. Our $700,000 grant to Christian Aid Kenya focuses on strengthening the participation of pastoralist women and youth in climate change budgeting, governance, county planning and legislation. With partners PACIDA and Caritas Maralal, Christian Aid Kenya will also help foster sustainable use of rangeland and water, increased access to climate information, and additional livelihood options.

Why Christian Aid Kenya?
Christian Aid Kenya knows how to partner and amplify local voices for policy change. After successfully getting climate change legislation passed in Makueni and Kitui counties, the organization can now focus on two new counties, Marsabit and Samburu, for even greater impact.
