Social movements and grassroot activists are calling on funders across the globe to step up to protect the lives and rights of those most affected by the climate crisis. In July, CJRF hosted two climate finance webinars to share lessons from grantee partner and funder experiences.

As the climate changes, people and societies will need to respond more often to extreme and stressful weather, and will need to strengthen their ability to contend with frequent disruption. People often call this “climate resilience.” On June 15, 2021, CJRF grantee partners convened virtually to explore what "resilience means and critiques of using this word in a panel entitled “Exploring Resilience in the Context of Climate Justice.”

In April and May of 2021, CJRF held two virtual learning events for partners to share insights from their experience to date. During these events, five CJRF partners shared their key insights on empowering communities.

The FFA recognizes that the people hardest hit by climate change are the most effective at building resilient, sustainable communities, and it aims to put the funding and decision-making power directly in their hands. Read about CJRF’s partner Huairou Commission and their role in the FFA.

CJRF held a webinar on January 28, 2021 to share our midterm review highlights with approximately 100 members of its community -- grantees, funders, advisors, board members, and others. The following five themes arose from these discussions.

At the end of 2020, ISET-International completed their independent portfolio evaluation of the Climate Justice Resilience Fund. We’re excited to share the results!
