Learning from Community-Led Responses to Loss and Damage
Community-level grants are an important element of the funding ecosystem. They play a vital role in addressing loss and damage in communities who may not use this label, but who are working on related issues without the same funding access as international NGOs. Our $80,000 grant to Global Greengrants Fund supported a portfolio-wide assessment of how loss and damage, including non-economic loss and damage, can be addressed through community-level environmental and social justice grants. These findings contribute to CJRF’s learning around locally-driven responses to loss and damage and to the non-economic loss and damage priorities and needs identified by communities.
